It is a crab pot - rope / line cutter.............We saw it on the shaft of one of the big sail boats that was on land.
The thing is really sharp, and will deffinitely do a number on your fingers...... so I guess it will cut a crab pot line or two.
This is sail boat country so I guess it stands to reason we'd be put in a slip next to sailboats.
Most everybody else got put along the side of a long pier.
