Fairlee Creek, Anchor Out, 6-25 + 26, 2011

My wife and I needed to get away.
You sea it's been non-stop, bust butt, all week long working at work, doing this and that after work on the boat, club interviews for new members this week and doing Yacht Club Opening weekend stuff in Club uniforms at all the other Yacht Clubs for the past 3 months.

We're done!  Cooked!
And we needed to get away.
So we did.
We packed up the boat with some light provisions and went across the Chesapeake Bay to the eastern shore.
A nice anchor out cove where a lot of boats go that has a Tiki Bar.

The place is called Fairlee Creek and the Tiki Bar is called Jelly Fish Joel's.
They had bands that played Sat. and Sun. afternoons till 6 pm.  FREE MUSIC.
What more could you want?

We had another nice surprise as my youngest son Jonathan and his girlfriend Valerie along with John's friend Stevie met us there for the day too.
They had just bought an 18' run-a-round Go-Fast boat and were trying it out.
So they came over for the afternoon and stayed for a little while.

It all was great and just what we needed.
Nice and relaxing.
Sat. evening there was a very nice breeze all night long that cooled things off so no air conditioning was needed.
In fact, I had to close the hatch in the morning because it got cold!

Great weekend, good time.
We'll be back!

Bodkin Yacht Club Opening Weekend 6-19-11

We are on the left, Lee and Dawn, aboard the "Dawn Rae",
then Fred and Paulette "Cruzzin Together"
and our Fleet Captain Joe and Colleen "Nicole Rose" on the right.
And we had another boat anchored on the right side of Joe, but he left early.
Then we have our Commodore Bob and Carol,
or should I say Commodore Carol and Bob.
Either way!!!............
On "Parrot's Nest"
PC Jake and PC Dave, on "Barb Z" and Bodkin's PC Bob on V/C Andy's boat "Fuelish Pleasure" on the right.

This past weekend we went to Bodkin Yacht Club for their Opening Weekend celebrations and fun activities.
And I won the "Pool" billiards tournament along with my partner PC Dave.
Above are a few of the pictures taken that weekend.

Well, it was time to part with her and give her a new home because we have upgraded to a 3870 Cruisers Yachts Inc. Congratulations to Matt and Dawn! We hope you have as much fun, if not more, as we did on this boat. She's found a new home just a little bit south of Annapolis, MD.

Langford Bay Marina, 9-5-09

Here we are again, settled in on our almost last cruise of the 2009 season.
For some reason, Dawn wishes I would not take these pictures of her on the boat all the time......?????
Anyway, I did, I wanted to, and I'll probably do it again.......
So,..... I decided to move on and take pictures of something else.
This view is looking north out of Langford Bay Marina. Click on it to sea it better. In the center is actually an island called "Casaway Island" The locals go here and anchor out. Seams like a nice place to go and I may do that sometime?
To the left is called the "West Fork" and to the right is called the "East Fork" of "Lankford Creek". "Davis Creek" is not in view but is to the far left.
Here is the Marina store at Langford Bay Marina. They have a lot of stuff in there and it is pretty neet.
The store and some slips.
More slips. We are in the left side - center and close to the store but far from the group again. What's up with that?

Langford Bay Marina - Pool, 9-5-09

They have a nice pool here too. It goes from 3' to 5' deep and is just enough to cool you off.
Here is the beautiful entrance walkway. Notice the signs with the arrows.
The pool before we took over.
Look out, here we are again.

We all had a good time cooling off and drinkin some chillies.
Even Kippy and Nancy got in the water!

Langford Bay Marina - Cookout, 9-5-09

Sat. night we had a group pitch in cook out.
I got this group shot from across the other side of the pier.
We kinda took over the entire picnic area like we did the pool.
We are really not selfish, we share, but we did have to reserve the entire area for the size of the group we had.

Stanley with his boom box.........
Jason, the younger guy on the left, was messin with me. He was giving me faces. I'll fix him!
Jason gave me another face and decided to put something in his mouth.
So..... here he is.......

Not much to say about a cook out!
And finally, I had to ask somebody to take a picture of me with Dawn.

Langford Sunset and Moonrise, 9-5-09

You know I love Sunsets.
The whole sky was like this.....
Now behind us,..... this was going on.
It actually is the Moon rising.
With the position on the sun going across the clouds in the sky it gave it a red tint. It almost looked like the Sun coming up again behind us.
But the sky is not lit up.
And only a few minutes later it started looking more like the Moon.
But notice, it still had a red tint on the water.....
How do you splain... that... Henry???

Which leads me to my poem that I made up:

May The Wind Be At Your Backside.

To Send You Along Your Way.

And Each Day Bring A Glorious Sunset.

So Tomorrow Will Be Another Great Day!

Skipjack - Barbara Batchelder, 9-6-09

This is a beautifully restored and maintained Skipjack that was at the Marina.
